Support tools creates strong students đŸ’Ș| day 25 of dyslexia awareness month

The goal is to create students that know when they should use their support tools! This should be as obvious as someone using glasses. The teacher shouldn’t even have to think about what tool the student uses because the student is comfortable confident and knows how to compensate for their needs! However, this is rarely the case many students feel they have to ask for permission for when to use the tools that can help them and are often afraid of not only the teachers, but also what students would think about them using these tools, and more often than not, they never really learned the tools because there is no one really to guide them in the right direction, why and how to compensate for their needs with these tools. We still have a lot of work to do!

MÄlet er Ä skape elever som vet nÄr de skal bruke stÞtteverktÞyene sine! Dette burde vÊre like Äpenbart som at noen bruker briller. LÊreren burde ikke engang mÄtte tenke pÄ hvilket verktÞy eleven bruker, fordi eleven er komfortabel, trygg og vet hvordan de skal kompensere for sine behov! Dessverre er dette sjelden tilfelle i de fleste klasserom. Mange elever fÞler at de mÄ be om tillatelse til nÄr de skal bruke verktÞyene som kan hjelpe dem, og er ofte redde for ikke bare lÊrerne, men ogsÄ hva andre elever ville tenke om at de brukte disse verktÞyene. I tillegg sÄ lÊrer de aldri verktÞyene fordi det ikke er noen som egentlig kan veilede dem i riktig retning, hvorfor og hvordan de skal kompensere for sine behov med disse verktÞyene! Her er det mye Ä jobbe med!
